Every web browser offers helpful keyboard shortcuts to help you manage your tabs. What’s more, each of these shortcuts are browser agnostic, in other words whether it’s Chrome, Edge, Firefox or another browser you use, the same shortcuts apply.
Here is collection of keyboard shortcuts for Windows that should work on any internet browser.
- New tab: Ctrl + T
- Close tab: Ctrl + W
- Go to next tab: Ctrl + Tab
- Go to previous tab: Ctrl + Shift + Tab
- Jump to a specific tab: Ctrl + (any number between 1-9)
- Open a previously closed tab: Ctrl + Shift + T
- Open an incognito or private window: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Close the window: Alt + F4
