Monday 14th March 2022, NCBI is delighted that NCBI Labs and the wider organisation has been nominated for five awards at the 25th anniversary of The Spiders awards which recognise digital achievements.

The categories in which NCBI has been nominated include:

  • Best Podcast – Talking Technology with NCBI Labs

Kyran O’Mahoney, Chief Technology Officer at NCBI, said:To be nominated for five awards at The Spiders is a massive achievement for our NCBI Labs team and all who were involved in the five recognised projects. As a charity, to be so forward-thinking about how technology aids our service users and staff is nothing short of incredible. The quality of the work and the vision for progression within our technology teams measures up to any other organisation out there. We’re very proud to be involved in the conversation for these prestigious awards.”

Chris White, Chief Executive Officer of NCBI, added: “NCBI Labs’ ability to shift our entire organisation online throughout the pandemic was a mammoth task and they met it head on. This guaranteed our staff were able to continue the provision of frontline services to our service users, connecting with them online to provide practical and emotional support as well as technology training. Projects such as myNCBI Smart Hub is an interactive and innovative way to engage services users and will be hugely beneficial moving forward. The teams’ achievements are exceptional, and they deserve all the congratulations available.”

Members of the NCBI Labs team will be present at The Spiders which take place on March 31st at the Mansion House in Dublin.
